About Us

We take pride in our restaurant and will do our best to ensure every visit is enjoyed. Our food is made with love, fresh ingredients, and years of experience in Asian cuisine.

Edo Grill & Sushi is family-owned and operated here in Moneta, Virginia. Since our restaurant opened its doors in 2006, we’ve treated every customer like they were a part of our family. Our teppanyaki chef has over 20 years of experience in the kitchen. Owner Shawn has spent 26 years in restaurant management, with 8 of those years preparing sushi. His wife, Jenny, has over 28 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

“Edo is the third restaurant we have owned, with the previous being Chopsticks Chinese Restaurant located at Bridgewater Plaza, and another Chinese establishment in Roanoke. We immigrated to the United States when we were both young. We both lived in the same village community in China, but never met until we came to the States, coincidentally to the same area! We’ve lived around Smith Mountain Lake for over twenty years and are fortunate to call it our home.”

“We have three daughters together. Vanessa, the eldest, is a graduate of CNU and currently a fourth-year medical student at VCU. Elysia is our middle child and a graduate of VCU Honors College. Cynthia, our youngest, is a junior at VCU Honors College and is currently studying history and urban development. All of our kids are proud alums of Franklin County High School and the Roanoke Valley Governor’s School. You may even spot them helping occasionally at the restaurant during busy seasons!”
